The Wonders of New Technology Tools

As the weeks are starting to blend together, so is the knowledge. This class has already helped me with my stepping stones, and a lot is coming together and making better sense. For my technology tool I choose Google Hangout. The main reason I chose this tool is because I use Google a lot. I think that its very convenient with Google + because everything is synced together. If I upload a picture for my profile I do not have to do it in steps, or make sure it goes to all my accounts. Google has it all done for me with just a click of a button. As I started looking at Google Hangout the one thing I noticed that really appealed to me was that people don't just have to have an i Phone for it to work. Whether you have an i Phone or a droid you can still use it for this app and connect with other people. When I first got my i Phone I was disappointed that people who did not have one couldn't see my emoji's. What's the point of having fun pictures if I couldn't share them with other people? (Of course maybe they did have them and I just didn't know what I was doing at the time which is very possible). The good thing about technology tools is that when we are learning we can go at our own pace and figure out how and why these tools act the way they do. Although there are a lot of different tools out there, they all have a purpose and they flow together. It is like one building block to the next. In Google Hangout one of the many features that is offered is the video imaging. This can be very insightful for not only talking to multiple family and friends at the same time, but also for our professional lives by sharing different ideas, thoughts, and plans through a live feed. I found a tutorial video that was very helpful to me. I hope you like it too.

  1. I'm pretty excited we're learning about Google Hangout in this course. I've tried using this Google feature but had difficulty understanding it. I appreciate you sharing the tutorial video on this technology as it helped me understand it a bit better. I can see how this technology can come in handy in different faucets of our lives.
